These two moments were all I could think of when my husband was fighting for his life in the ICU, just before our youngest daughter's wedding in September, 2009. More detail about that is in my earlier blog from yesterday if you're curious. But this morning as I kissed him good-bye, both of us just starting our day, I reminded myself of these two moments . . . two moments I didn't think were possible as I sat beside his bed with him so close to death.

I'm so proud of my family. My handsome husband to my right, our youngest daughter to my left with her husband standing behind her with that silly grin, our oldest daughter to my husband's right and our grandson standing in front of her. This picture was taken this past January at my 60th birthday party. These are the people in my life who keep me motivated and inspired to do good and be the best person I can be.
Our story is a long one. Unfortunately, many of us have much in common with each other in that regard, don’t we? If you decide to read it, I hope you find ours informative. A little while ago, I decided that I needed to do something to mark the anniversary (thereabouts) of the delightful diagnosis and surgery. So, I set my sights on returning to one of my favourite places, Snowdonia.
I had last been up the mountain around 6 years ago, before our move to the Middle East. My younger son was due to have his A-Level results on 16 August and I wanted to come back for those if at all possible. I spoke to my son in the morning and got the great news that he had got the grades...
So on Friday (24th) I had my 3rd and hopefully final biopsy under GA and the consultant said everything looked good. So I’m happy but in a lot of pain. Ended up being given a lovely cocktail of IV morphine and tramadol when I came round from the anaesthetic!
I should get the results in 3-4 weeks and if all is good, I’m hoping the Mirena can come out as my partner and I would like to start a family soon :)

Feeling so down today. After 11 glorious years in remission, I think its back.
Waiting for a CT Scan on Thursday 30th August...……….and hoping that I'm just being paranoid...…..

I sort of got really bored of cancer, sick of talking about it sick of it being my life so I switched off as much cancer ' noise' as I could and powered on through the chemo for a bit.. Gosh there is a lot of ads on the TV lately for McMillan and Cancer Research. You never really notice until you are affected I guess. I have to turn off when I see ' Brave the Shave' sigh!
Anyway yesterday I started on cycle 3 of 12 on Folfox. Starting...

Monday 7 August 2017 was the date when I had the "mass" removed from my neck. What a delightful term "mass" is...I remember being in recovery and seeing it in a specimen jar about to be sent of to the path lab. Lovely. I'll spare you the details though.
