This is the cell's first blog which will hopefully give a regular commentary on our activities and mishchevious goings-on. We will start with a brief description of our habitat. Luckypete is male 53yrs old and has provided a second home for us on his pleura but since the rest of his body is covered by the data protection act, even after consderible investigation nobody will give any indication where our first home is, also we have disguised ourselves so our type can't be identified. Having been...

Hi there bali, thanks for the positives. Like so many of us out there i'm going into unchartered waters. Im pretty good at talking so i'm sure i.ll get to know some other patients tomorrow, and we can swap our cancer stories which i am sure will help us. The nursing staff will be on hand to help and assure us as well. So already i'm not so nervous. Nice to here from you. Darter
nice to here you are a west Hull man Graeme, we might make a proper egg chaser supporter of you after all. Seriously though, glad you are in remission and hope it lasts. I'm having my first session of chemo tomorrow at the new centre, i certainly want the treatment, but a little apprehensive regarding the side effects. We will just hav to see how it goes (fingers crossed). TTFN :-)

It is a release to be able to put into writing what has been happening recently.
Keith had his scan 2 weeks ago, and has been in a lot more pain since then. We had to call out the duty doctor last week on Friday night because his pain control medication was not adequate. I felt so helpless not being able to do anything except be there for him. He was admitted to hospital and as he hadn't been able to eat they put him on a hydrating drip, then a catheter.
All sorts of pain relievers were given...
Well here I am , getting ready for a mastectomy next tuesday. It'll be the 3rd surgery and I'm quite annoyed! I asked them to do this day 1 and they resisted. So, I said ok a WLE will do. Then, they come back and ask to do more because of further DCIS. I again asked about a mastectomy and they resisted. And THEN, they come back and say, oh actually, we do need to do a mastecomy.
I have had quite a few problems after this latest surgery. The wound opened, the breast became so swollen it...
