Hi there
I had my mastectomy 10 weeks ago all went well, healed and great movement.
I have still a lot of bruising coming out, and slightly painful when I press on the area, and now quite bad spider veins along the scar and above ,which the clinic reckon is from the radiotherapy I had 28 years ago.
Anyone else experienced this?
Thanks x
Hi Blue Baby,
it was explained to me that a mastectomy takes a long time to fully heal and settle, and so I guess yes, bruising will take time to improve. Plus of course there have been nerves cut, and they take a very long time to recover, and may not totally fully regrow. I had a mx with implant over a year ago and there are still numb areas, plus occasionally I will get an itch which, when I touch the area, simply is still numb. (Most recently it was my nipple - which I haven’t got! Yes that did get me giggling!)
not sure about the spider veins but your clinic’s explanation sounds logical. Keep watching in case it extends a lot?
Hugs xxx
