Hi everyone I guess I’m looking for some positive comments / experiences.
I had Her 2 positive breast cancer er diagnosed September 2024 . It was treated with chemo and then left sided mastectomy ( April 2025) then radiotherapy in July 2025 then finally phesgo injections which ended in November 2025.
in the last two weeks I’ve been hit by a tremendous huge wave of tiredness around 5.30 each day meaning I need to go to bed and rest for the evening . I also feel slightly unsteady and wobbly around escalators and if I put my head down when sitting down the world tilts from side to side . I also sometimes feel a bit sick .
could any of this be late on set side effect of radiotherapy or chemo ? It Wouid be very late onset indeed if it were but I’m wondering if anyone else felt fine after treatment and surgery and got blindsided with fatigue and dizziness later ?

  • Hi

my name is Chelle and I am one of the community champs. My cancer is different to yours, so I hope you do not mind me coming here to chat with you.

Late onset of side effects for both chemo and radiotherapy can happen, sometimes years after treatment. However the symptoms that you have described really need checking by your GP. You may be anaemic or suffering from low blood pressure. Both of these can be easily treated and will make you feel a whole let better. If your symptoms get worse before you see your GP and you start suffering with headaches or confusing please seek immediate medical help or call 111.

Let us know how you get on.

  • Go to your gp and ask for a full set of bloods, could be something unrelated causing the fatigue.  My fatigue was caused by lack of folic acid, I think caused by my fatty liver.
