    excellent news

Cancer has not spread. Chemo starts on 28th April managed to negoiate a reprive as i need to sort out so much prior to chemo and need my head to be in the right place. Radio therapy and Tamox tablets after as well.

Also got a chance to tell oncology team how badly i felt i had been treated and the total lack of aftercare  that i have recieceved . I actually felt in control for the first time in months.

Expect the unexpected, a lesson to learn...

I've been recently waiting for results on qualifying for a trial. My husband and I where told last week we'd find out the results this week, so I was getting really anxious as the week went on. About 6 oclock I found my answer, and about 1,000 more questions..

Around quarter after 5 the phone rang with Karmanos (clinic) on the ID... this alone gave me the butterfly-stomach feeling. I was told they were unable to obtain my tissue samples they were switching me to a different trial. I was extremely...

    Cancer and the Quake

I live in New Zealand - 3 days ago Christchurch was rocked by a terrible earthquake - currently there are 103 dead - over 200 missing and over 120 in serious condition in hospital. It is surreal.

Amazing really how things in life affect you. Amazing really how your thoughts wander at a time like this.

I am facing cancer - and very scared - but suddenly I am really grateful that whatever the news from my next tests are - I have time. Time to come to terms with this - no matter how hard - time to...

  • Hello. An introduction.
    Would you look?

So I am on a roll tonight ;o)

DH had his scan on Monday to see if the chemo / radio has made his tumor smaller.

We have an appointment next wednesday for the results...

    BUT..

Cause Dave is private they gave him a copy of the scan on DVD.

At first he was dead against looking at it but I caught him checking against the original scan (which we have a copy of) to see if it was smaller....

    Asking for trouble ;o)

but as I keep telling myself the ongoloist is the only one who can tell us what it...

  • Hello. An introduction.
    Lower immune and chicken poxs

not sure what to do.... and not sure this is the best place to put this but here goes!

My friend (who I am suppose to see tomorrow) thinks her son "may" have chicken pox.

Dave still has a low immune system after chemo & radio therapy and my friend and I are worried that it might pass on to him.

But am I just being over protective?

He hasn't been that well since finishing his steriods this week.

    Arhhhh this is so hard.

    Does anyone have any advice?

    kick me when im down

    WHY

Seen the doctor at christies and he blew my mind with statitics. I can cope but christ i think they are trying to kill my husband. I know the odds, I know they have to tell me but im trying my hardest to stay postive and they keep trying to kick me while im down.

Then to top things off I had to go to work today for an emergency meeting and there is a 50% chance that I could lose my job before im better to go back to work. Bloody council and there cuts.

Never did like maths and statistics in...
