    Bertiebassett. 2010

Well despite me not wanting it to arrive it's here. I can't sleep again Bert has been asleep since we came back from Haematology at 5pm yesterday. Because we went to the Panto on Wednesday he was exhausted. he has woke up twice for a cup of tea and fallen asleep before I have finished making it.

They Consultant seems to think that he will need a transfusion so he will need to go in on Sunday if that is the case.

Confusion and agitation is still a problem, The confusion I think is made worse...

A new year - an uncertain time

I write my first post of 2010 wondering what the year ahead will bring.  I know my cancer has the upper hand in this battle but I haven't given up hope, despite rather bleak words from my consultant.

This whole journey has been a mind-changing experience beyond anything I could have imagined.  Thinking about everything in a new light and cherishing every day that I am blessed with to see my two little girls and my loving wife.

I see the beauty of nature through different eyes - through the...

  • so many things in my head that I just can't sleep!
I really am having trouble sleeping tonight...too many things to think about!!

    Hi everyone.

I've been an occassional 'lurker' on the board for some time, but I'm not a very chatty person...well,I am in a room full of friends, but I'm nervous of people I don't know, but tonight I'm just hoping to offload this 'stuff' that's going round in my head and keeping me awake!

A brief note about our situation.Although my sign-in name is 'Denswife',we are not actually married...not in the eyes of the UK law.

Den and I met on a dating site...

    2010???

    Oh dear

I have just seen my first blog and its looks so depressing, sorry!!!

Normally can control myself better than that. So lets start again...

Lets hope 2010 brings hope, comfort and peace to all of the Macmillan community.

Beware the black dog of depression, as my Lab would say...if she could.

    2010 -???

Well, here goes my first  blog thingy.

Its very nearly 2010 and I am sitting at home with my 2 dogs wondering what the next year will bring.

Somethings I already know , like my husband has adneocarcimona of the lymph glands in his chest, inoperable... and maybe else where- we will know after the PET scan on Monday.

Allan was treated for throat cancer in 2007 and now cancer has returned.  The news from the consultant is not very encouraging at all. 12 months without chemo and a bit longer if he has...

    2010

Well my dear friends, 2009 is drawing to a close and I for one am not sorry. For me and my family it was one of the worst years we have experienced. We lost many family members and friends this year through various causes. I know that we are not alone in our torment and would like to thank everyone for their unending support and love. Likewise I would like to extend my support and love to all of you who are affected in whatever way by this terrible illness. Let us hope that sooner rather than later...

    I really don't want 2010 to arrive.

Am i the only 1? I have had a horrible xmas finding out my dads news but the way i look at it at this very moment in time 'he is well'. His chemo doesn't start until 14th Jan and i know that this is when i will see a change in him.  So i know it sounds silly because i know my dad is terminally ill but at the moment i am quite happy to stay exactly where we are. He is showing no signs and he is just my dad.

Sorry i know it probably doesn't make sense. nothing i have said this last week...
