So, the past few days, John's been feling really well. Not cranky, not moody, not bumping into things, not exceptionally tired. It's been really good.
On Tuesday, we saw the oncologist and asked to see the scans - compare/contrast old vs new ones and to see, for the first time, exactly how many and how big. The news was relatively good. Most of the tumours in the vital organs have stayed the same or even shrunk by about 1mm+/-. This means that the dacarbazine is doing its job, with mixed...
Today was the first time in 2 weeks that we were at the hospital for less than 2 hours - bonus!
Tomorrow will not be so lucky as the dreaded peg goes in and he's in over night. I loath the idea of leaving him there and going home. I feel shut out and out of control and it's not something i like!
Hi
My MIL has just started her chemo (yesterday). She was very upbeat and was, pleasantly suprised at how much better it was than she had feared and initillly thought. Dad is massively upbeat and seems...
Don't know who wrote this & you've probably read it elsewhere, but it seemed singularly appropriate.
" There are things we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn and people we can't live without but have to let go."

I’m home again after 4 of the very worst days of my life. Up until now I’ve been able to hold things all together and stay firmly positive and upbeat, but over the past for days in hospital I completely fell apart emotionally. My friends and family are all cheering me from the rafters, convinced I’m brave and courageous. Well the past few days has proved I am a total fraud in the bravery stakes. I was a blubbing, frightened, vulnerable idiot, making everyone’s life, both nurses and patients...
