    Update of Treatment
I have now had 20 days of radiotherapy out of 33 and at moment I am feeling ok. I cant believe I am more than half way it. It feels like it was only yesterday that i started it. I am now on a morphine patch and this seems to have stopped my throat hurting which in turn means I am able to eat a bit more. I know I have to eat but everything just tastes the same, CRAP. There is no flavour to anything but the only flavours i can really taste is lemon and vanilla. I have lost nearly a stone in weight...

    ChildBirth
Due to a power outage, only one paramedic responded to the call. The house was very dark so the paramedic asked Kathleen, a 3-yr old girl to hold a torch high over her mummy so he could see while he helped deliver the baby. Very diligently, Kathleen did as she was asked. Heidi pushed and pushed and after a little while, Connor was born. The paramedic lifted him by his little feet and spanked him on his bottom. Connor began to cry. The paramedic then thanked Kathleen for her help and...

    Another go 'round...
Had another thoracentesis (# 11) and a cat scan this week. A day in the life of an ovarian cancer patient. At least this thora went for two weeks without needing one sooner, so it is a wee bit better. I didn't have to drink that chalky white contrast goop...they have it in Crystal lite flavors of either iced tes or raspberry, both very sweet I'm afraid, but not so filling and bloating. I am riding a smooth sea right now and am grateful for that...which is my gratitude. We shall see, as I have...

    feeling bad today
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and had a hysterectomy 6 weeks ago, due to start my chemo on Monday but they say it may not work and are going to do 3 sessions and then do a ct scan and if it hasnt worked they wont do any more. This is making me feel so miserable as I so much want to have some more time with my little granddaughter who is 16 months old and a new baby that is due in 6 weeks time. I cant believe all this has happened when it should be the happiest time of my life as I am 64 years...

    An Update
I am getting really frustrated. I was at the hospital again yesterday and checked on the progress of my appeal for funding; no update, it is still with the commissioner’s panel. The results of my brother’s compatibility test have not come through yet and could be another week. It is looking more likely that the transplant date of early May will end up being put back which is the last thing I want. There is a lot of planning around taking around 6 months off sick and being in hospital for a month...

    Which chemo for bowel cancer?
Most people with bowel cancer seem to be having xeloda and capecitabine. I've just had 4 cycles of that which did not work very well and I guess I will be given a different regime. Does anyone have experience of anything else and can tell me about it? i know everyone's experiences of chemo are different but any info would be good.

    Cancer Marker
Would like to know how important is taking a cancer marker for you. My 1st marker at 2000, dropped to 300, went up to 600 last week. Dr say he cant explain why, nothing to worry about. I take a test every 3rd week. My hubby's marker was 10 500, dropped to 190. His dr is not really keen on markers.
