The biopsy has confirmed TaG3, so I do have the choice of BCG or surgery. The doctor - a pleasant but young registrar - didn't have much information to add to what I'd already gleaned off the interent, but wouldn't let me decide there & then. At least he didn't try to sway me in either direction.
I have to back on July 12.
I can be grateful it's not worse and the sense of urgency has abated slightly.
CT scan today fingers crossed the chemo doing some good xx

2nd doze of chemo today 2 weeks late but least thats it done . home from hospital and hes looking forward to the weekend bbq a mine if weather permits lol .

well james got up this morning not feeling to good day in bed so he wont be down for the bbq so its on hold till hes feelin good and the weather is nice

ct scan today all went well just to see whats happening got his oncologist on fri to find out xx
Some bad news news today the cancer has spread to his sternum now getting moved to the western tomorrow thank god x
After an emotionally intense few weeks of being advised that cancer was suspected, to having cancer confirmed, to then have to wait for a specific diagnosis; we are finally here! It's Hodgkin's Lymphoma - stage 3b. My darling husband who has been amazing throughout all the prodding and poking, the blood tests, multiple scans and 3 separate biopsies; he now faces his first Chemotherapy treatment. A clinical trial!
He's felt ill since Monday (more than normal) following the PET CT scan....
Been busy with build of avairy.Tired as done too much!! So slowing down to pace myself.Started doin light weights to build up weak muscles and enjoying that.Appetite off a bit but had a cold.
Well folks, in the post today I had my next appointment for chemo, at my LOCAL hospital! The oncologist had insisted that it could be done there, but the staff were not so sure..... as the onc was so sure my specialist nurse tried again, and spoke to the chemo ward sister, and the pharmacy dept. There was some of the drug in stock, but outdated as it hadn't been used in so long. Good job I went 'long distance' for the first treatment. That was another story altogether. 2.30pm appointment...
When doctors and nurses speak out about unacceptable practices they often put their careers on the line. Patients and carers, too, can find there are many barriers to speaking out, even within official user involvement.
There is to be a 'Whisteblowers Special' section in Private Eye next week - they had so much material they've had to focus on NHS staff as whistleblowers but are using the website - www.medicalharm.org to spread the idea of patients and relatives whistleblowing too...
Hi everyone, I haven't blogged for awhile but I have been around supporting others.
I had a telephone call this morning from my colorectal nurse telling me that I am to be admitted to hospital on the 6th July (exactly 2 years to the day since all this started)
My surgeon wants to build up my electrolytes prior to an operation on the 8th July to reverse my iliostomy.
It has been a long 2 years but now I can see a light at the end of a very very long tunnel. I finally get my bum back!

I suppose I will find out soon what going on with my husband he has SCLC (inoperable ) only diagnosed a couple of months ago ( feels like years) , He started chem 8 days ago and since then he has become confused and his speech is a bit slurred. Its so very upsetting, I dont know how much more I can take, just when you think things maybe getting a bit better something else raises its ugly head.
He is going for a brain scan this morning, Oh and the other thing is he cant stand up any more because...
