Nige went for results yesterday for stem cell transplant he had over the summer ! To say we were a tad nervous was an understatement. Appointment wasn't until 3:50 so went and did some Christmas shopping first. Arrived at hospital and waiting was nearly empty which is a first , got into appointment more or less on time and the verdict is ............ 'IN REMISSION NO TRACES OF CANCER AT ALL' Wooo Hooo bring it on we are totally buzzing at the moment and looking forward to the future

My husband has returned home after 3 weeks 1 day of his stem cell transplant. He received Donor cells on 20th October and is now resting at home. He has coped remarkably well so far but I know this is only the beginning and we have still got a long way to go. Having him home is wonderful but I just wonder what is around the corner regarding infections! I know there be will some, I am told there will, I just have to sit and wait.....
The only issues he encountered were extreme fatigue...

First time I have discussed this stuff somewhere like here but need some guidance....
My mum has advanced malanoma... its been metastatic for the last 3 years including bones, lungs, breast, brian and so on.. blah blah. She is under an amazing prof at southampton, Christian Ottensmier who is leading in new medicine so that has been a benefit in someways.
Last year in October she had femour and knee bones removed in oxford and at the same time was tested for the BRAF mutation...

My mum has got skin canver on her leg she has had the tumours removed twice.Went to hospital the other day and when they come to check this they said they had come back more aggressive so had blood tests to see if this had spread any where else in her body.They told her she would have to have her leg removed above her knee.She has had no chemo or nothing just 2 ops to remove the cancer.
Realy need someone who has been though the same thing to help me with this has i am finding it hard to take in...

Literally... too many beans and lentils and that and a stomach ache all week culminated in Little My just stepping out of the staffroom to go to her first lesson of the day when... grumble grumble parp! and she blew her bag off... !! diarrhoea and all ! I've c&p'd all this off my front page. There's a big gap where I missed stuff, but it just wouldn't let me update or do anything and the forum was swapping over and I never understood it anyway. So here it is, then I can clear that page and make it look more jolly :)
Hi, I have anal cancer and have just finished 28 sessions of radiotherapy, with an additional 2 weeks of chemo. I now have to wait 6 weeks for the results.

I hadn't planned to visit Mo today had some things to do yet again down the town and I knew Carol was visiting Mo this morning. I wanted to buy some picture frames today because I had some photos of Mo in the garden at the Day Therapy Centre when they all had strawberries and cream. They were lovely photos of Mo smiling and all dressed up as it was her first visit to the centre and she was really looking forward to it. Happy Days!!.
