I've been putting it in the wrong place!

2 minute read time.

I've c&p'd all this off my front page. There's a big gap where I missed stuff, but it just wouldn't let me update or do anything and the forum was swapping over and I never understood it anyway. So here it is, then I can clear that page and make it look more jolly :)

Hi, I have anal cancer and have just finished 28 sessions of radiotherapy, with an additional 2 weeks of chemo. I now have to wait 6 weeks for the results.

Update 25th October 2009 - I had my checkup and the Doctor could no longer feel the lump/tumour. MRI scan in 5 weeks now and then results 2 weeks after that.

12th November - I've had my blood results back from the GP and I'm officially on the change.

9th December 2009 - results of MRI scan tomorrow - this is it folks.

I forgot to update this bit! 10th December I was told the tumour had gone???? Next check-up 11th March 2010.

11th march - clear, 10th June - clear.

CT scan 27th July, next check-up was to be 9th Sept. but it was brought forward to today, 19th August 2010. I'm unsure at this moment in time what's going on, but the results of the CT scan show something not right in my lymph nodes above the treatment area. Because of their position they cannot do a biopsy, so I'm waiting for a letter for another MRI scan and I'll be going back on the 9th Sept. to find out if they think I need more chemo :(

Had MRI 1st September 2010, just had 'phone call half hour ago, no evidence in pelvic area. Gynae. appointment on 17th Sept. will have to wait and see what they find to figure out what's happening next, looks like chemo. on the nodes in October at least.

Update 24th October 2010 -

I'm back on the chemotherapy. There was nothing in the gynaecological areas so looks like  basic spread to the retro-peritoneal nodes. I went in on Friday 22nd October for my drip of Mytomycin C and a new one (to me) Cisplatin. I've come away with Capecitabine tablets, I had it in drip form last year known as Fluorouracil (5FU). I have to take these for 3 weeks and then go back in for the day, and repeat the cycles for 6 - 8 times. I'll be going in on a Thursday next time as that was when the Doc. originally wanted me in as that's her clinic day.

Feeling fine at the moment.

I did update but nothing appeared so I''ve forgotten what I wrote now. I started cycle 3 on 9th Dec. 2010 after having a week off, because the white blood cell count was too low. Hope to have a scan middle of cycle 4 so I know if it's working or not.

Deferred twice now for cycle 4, having 5 daily injections to get the white blood cell count up (hopefully) and trying again next Thursday 13th Jan. and I'm due a CT scan on 19th Jan 2011.

Managed cycle 5 yesterday (10th Feb 2011) after another week's deferral. Scan shows shrinkage of the areas they are monitoring so I guess that's good news. Still need 6 to 8 cycles depending on what my body can cope with. May need a blood transfusion at some point.

9th November 2011 - I keep trying to update my profile but it won't let me. I now have a spread to both my lungs and may only have months to live.
