    Stop All The Clocks...

I am sorry I haven't been around much lately.  I have just dropped in to let you know that my beautiful brother left us on Saturday 10th March 2012 at 9.45pm.  I will be back to tell you all about it but for now I will leave you with a poem I created from a vision I had a few weeks ago.

    Much love and squidgy hugs,

  • My Life With Cancer
    A Moan or Two......

So tomorrow I try going back to work for 3 mornings a week.  To say I'm dreading it is a massive understatement.  My lovely husband has said "go try it, if you feel miserable or stressed, then leave - life is too short" and I love him for it. I know lots of changes have taken place since I was last behind my desk, none of them are positive for me as I will be doing all the bits I hated about my job, none of the things I did like and am going to be given bits I know I will find stressful....

  • Is it OK to feel down?

It is too simplistic to think that as a carer I will have good days and down days - what I had not expected was the guilt that accompanies the feeling of being depressed.  I am not the patient, I am not the one going through the gruelling chemo sessions, nor the one with cancer inside me.

I feel guilty if I lose my patience with my husband, which under normal circumstances would happen anyway, you know the sort of thing, everyday occurrences or niggles that annoy us and we kind of bicker but then...

  • When my heart began to break
Don't know what to do with myself
Monday again and another week of feeling on edge waiting for results from my dads biopsy. Had an ok weekend, weather was nice and warm but unfortunately it was tainted by my dads apparent increase in breathlessness. By daughter and I accompanied my dad to do the big shop at tesco, while my husband helped my mum take some stuff to the tip. My dad was ok in tesco but said he got breathless and tapped his chest a few times :( he said even it scared him how the breathlessness has got worse in the last...

THE MAN WITH THE SILVER HAIR !!!!!!!!

My annual check up is coming up this month with my breast surgeon who lets face it  saved my life!!!

I think he sees me as one of his many personal triumphs as he always calls me his star patient, I think that is because I was never one of those types to question anything, I just did as I was told and got on with it, treatment that is, now its a different story, I want to question everything!! maybe it comes from age and having a little more knowledge about cancer.

I am not worried about my check...

    colon cancer

My father aged 81 has been diagnosed with bowel cancer, it is just on the
bend of the bowel near the rectum.  Due to his other health problems all they
are considering is a stent.  My father has been on oral morphine for 3 years due
to a hip op gone wrong.  We have not been told what stage he is at. The nurse
reffering us to MacMillan forgot (so annoyed about that).  I have been up since
4am with my dad as he is losing glutinous excreatment with no warning.

What i want to know is at what stage does...

  • The nightmare begins
    Week 4

Well Mum has been for radio therapy .as the week went by she got more tired by Wednesday she could not walk from the car to the room for the treatment . She is still fighting the fight although dog tired all the time. luckily she has not been sick and so far no hair loss . As the treatment was broken up by the weekend we went to get a wig . I think she chosen a good one looking as if she had been to have her hair done rather than a obvious change of colour and style.now its lots of rest if I can...

  • hurrah for feeling better
remission, making the most of the extra time.

Well I'm pleased to say that after finishing my 5th line chemo in December, I am still feeling better, and over the last week I have stayed at my daughters, and helped out with the school runs, (something I have be unable to do for the last 2 years).  I drove myself for the 2 hour journey, first to my son, and two days with them, though we didn't go out.  Sunday off to my daughter to do the school runs for the week.  My 2 grandaughters seemed so please to see me, Sunday lunch pizza party for...
