    Gutted

Today came the news I have been dreading.  I think I knew it was imminent, but never expected to hear the words.  My darling man of 3 years has a matter of weeks to live.  I cannot begin to describe how I feel.  ANGRY..... at him for leaving me, at cancer for stealing him from me, at myself for not being able to do more to keep him.  I would rather he leave me for another woman, at least there is a chance I could win him back, if only it was about that.

This gorgeous man has made me the happiest I have...

  • Sublingual Salivary Gland Cancer- my journey
    Radiotherapy day 21
Everything hasn't been too bad over the weekend again. Last night I slept Through from 2 till 6 am which is the longest I've had in ages. It was review day today, so after I was zapped I saw the registrar, dietician and nurse. I got told off for loosing weight and for not upping my Oramorph dose. Last week I was told to move it up to 5ml but I didn't feel that I needed it. I also found the 2.5 ml didn't cause a problem driving. I've just eaten icecream, baby rice pudding and caramel pudding...

  • Breast cancer ... Neo adjuvant chemo prior to lumpectomy
About to start Docetaxel ...feeling apprehensive
Hi I am new to the site. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of May. The initial shock and anxiety waiting for a biopsy and the result were extremely hard to deal with. Once my treatment plan was in place I felt more in control. I am having neo adjuvant chemo prior to a lumpectomy. I have just had my 4th session of EC chemo and will start my first session of Docetaxel on 26th Sept followed by my first Herceptin on 30th Sept. Apart from hair loss, nausea and sleep disturbance I...

  • I'm Getting There
    Getting better

Last week. [ I apologize ] If I offended anyone I looked at some porn on the advice of a friend. I have not looked since but my weeing has Improved. I'm getting up less during the night and can now go out during the day without fear of wetting myself for at least three hour's. I don't know If It was the porn that helped."after all nothing happened physically" maybe It was the hope I generated within my mind that porn would help. In other word's I had a belief that It would [ I think so I am ] I still...

  • Sublingual Salivary Gland Cancer- my journey
    Radiotherapy - two weeks left.
It's the weekend, and I seem to have been hit by tiredness. Feeling shattered today. Went for a walk earlier and have now come back to bed. I am starting to feel a bit fed up about not being able to eat too at the moment. I have tried soft puddings such as rice pudding and I can swallow them but everything tastes so salty. So the Ensure drinks are about the only thing that doesn't seem to taste of salt. The variety apart from flavour is do I have it frozen or not.

  • Sublingual Salivary Gland Cancer- my journey
    Radiotherapy Day 20
Day of rest apart from the zapping at 4pm today. Didn't see anyone else after yesterday's session as the nurse was doing something else and they said they would see me if required but I had Nothing new to report so decided not to. Quite tired again yesterday after the trip into work, so fell asleep quite early. Red patches are showing up more in my face now, you can actually see rectangles of the treatment areas on my neck. I keep apply the aqueous cream to keep it moist. Had longer...

  • Dyad's second time around
    Oh no! More treatment...

It feels a bit funny writing this blog, which will be seen by strangers and the few of my friends whom I've told about it, rather than giving my news to my family and friends first.  When the news is not good, you're not exactly in a tearing hurry to impart it to all and sundry.  But I want to talk about it, which is where this blog comes in helpful.  And I don't really mind if no one reads it!

I had a CT scan last Monday at the Christie.  I was in a lot of pain that day, and had had 6 days...

    Radiotherapy - Day 19
Definately got some longer spells of sleep last night which was good, but it meant each time I woke up I'd missed a drug time by about an hour so things were a bit more uncomfortable, but quick to get back off to sleep again. Thursday I usually see the nurse but today the paper work says some other kind of review too. Planning to go into work for a couple of hours later, so will update later.

    Seven years of auto-pilot...

After over seven years of having cancer in mine and my husband's life, I finally feel it's time to de-stress a little and see whether writing is therapeutic way of managing all the thoughts in my head (so sorry for all the babble!)

Way back in 2007 when months and months of misdiagnosis happened and FINALLY the diagnosis of my husband's brain tumour was made, we both started this journey together that in some way feels like a whirlwind that has gone quickly but in other ways feels like that...
