Blogging can be a great way to journal your experiences and share with others. Why not create your own cancer journey blog, or have a read of other blogs created by our members?
Unsure how to get started? Take a look at our help pages on blogs.
For those who have read the rest of this blog, you'll have seen where I spoke about music and lyrics. Well, I heard another one tonight that I felt like sharing, as it was something I needed to hear and so I figured others might too.
You can find the music here and the lyrics are as follows:
Well this has come as a bit of a surprise, I'm a practical pragmatic person, so can't say I've really suffered any lows since diagnosis, even when my treatment veered towards the gruelling side I didn't feel this low, a few tears with the pain but quickly back to being able to function, all be it at a lower level.
I've gone back to work four days a week, maybe that's too much too soon as I'm now physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted, I'm also not coping very well with other...
Last Thursday we received the devastating news that my husband's tumour has not responded to treatment, in addition there was evidence of new disease in 3 nodes further up near the trachea. My husband is 46 we have 2 beautiful children and out life has been torn apart by this.
Everyone said be positive after initial diagnosis and we were prognosis was scary but ok there was no spread and operation to remove the tumour was a possibility let option IF the chemo worked but it didn't.
...Hi all I'm a 68 year old male....about 3 weeks before Christmas I noticed my wee was quite dark and discoloured but I was not alarmed..on boxing Day morning I went for a pee and it was a constant stream of blood..the next time it happened was new year's Day another constant stream of blood....
I had an appointment with my doctor on 4th January who after examining me and seeing blood in my urine sample booked me in to see the urologists on January 11th....
On having my ultrasound...
Well I’ve not been here for a while - I haven’t felt well for a couple of days, nothing specific but all I could think about was the extreme tiredness. Well today the ambulance got called, reluctantly on my part but necessary (my husband is nearly always right when it comes to my medical care) - I was so worried something was wrong with my heart, I had chest pains, no breath, dizzy and am awful sense of foreboding. So where is it up to now, I am waiting for a CT scan as they suspect a pulmonary...
Hi my partner was diagnised in Nov with stomach and oesophagas cancer at the junction. We married on 24th Nov and had a beautiful day.
He is very depressed and im trying everything to keep home as normal. He has has 2 months chemo and now hopefully it has shrunk enough ready for total stomach removal. However his discomfort is a lot worse and he is worried it has spread further yet he wont speak to the hosp about this, he has a scan today and will know by next monday.
I wish he would talk...
Up and down is how I feel. Yesterday, I re-read the Eulogy I've written for her funeral next Monday and blubbed. I forced myself to do my first 'outing' on my own - just to a small exhibition. I felt predictably lonely but unpredictably jealous of all the couples. I played a board game with our two kids (20s) and their partners and we had a great time - laughing, whooping and hollering. Yesterday was the first day that no-one visited or rang to see how we are. Yesterday was when I realised...
Blog number 2. I realised today how angry and upset I came across yesterday and it’s not that I am not, it’s that sometimes I find things difficult. I find the mornings the worst and by the afternoon I’m usually ok. I’m trying to realise that I’m still me and that cancer is just a small part of me. I need to learn to cope with going out. I feel self conscious because of the no hair thing but was out for most of yesterday and part of today. I think as I have been severely neutropenic because of intensive...
Hello! I am 69 years old, an older dancer and live in Tottenham, London.
This blog is based on my experiences during my cancer journey which began early in 2017. It is influenced by Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland". Just as Alice visited a place where she met unexpected challenges, the known and unknown became "curiouser and curiouser", I experienced my "Adventures in Cancerland" in similar ways. It is my journey recording ways I remained positive, adaptable and took life as I found it each...
