How do I make people understand?
Went out with my two best girlfriends last night, and as it so often does, the conversation turned to cancer. One of them has recently become an expert on it since her long estranged half sister recently passed away from lung cancer and her sister in law has just been diagnosed with breast cancer and will shortly be starting chemotherapy. She's been given odds of 70%+ survival over 10 years, with an extra 6% if she has treatment. Wish my odds were so good. But when I mention that my odds are...

    Anyone tried acupuncture?
I have been trying acupuncture to help with the nausea and sickness after chemo and i'm wondering if anyone else has tried it too? I was a bit scepticle about trying it,( but have on recommendation from someone else who had succuss with it). I tried it and much to my surprise have had no sickness since. I go for my 4/6 chemo next week and I even have my appetite back!... so I'll keep it up at least until I finish chemo..(just in case it is working!!) lots of luv...Carolyn :)

    First Chemo over
Well, i had my first chemo just over 3 weeks ago, and i thought it went quite well, not too many side effects, achy joints and a bit tired but all in all not as bad as i'd expected. I've been coping quite well emotionally, the cancer had been removed in surgery and the chemo was supposed to be just in case there were any nasty cells left unseen, and so i always thought myself as had cancer, not have cancer. Just before my first chemo i had a ct scan, just for a base line to compare any future...

Hi I am new to the site and have never written a blog before so hear goes. I had surgery for breast cancer 7 weeks ago, it feels like such a long time ago now as if this disease has been in my life for ever, but of course a lot has happened in that 7 weeks, meetings with surgeon/oncologust,research nurse,up for blood tests, heart scan before chemo starts,it is almost like someone has mapped out this path for me and i have to trust everyone else to know that it is the right one for me and i have no...

Glad to be home in own bed tonight.
Am just home from hospital where I have spent the last five nights after becoming unwell. Cannot believe that this time last weeek I was advising another member on what to do when she became shivery and had a temp and was unwell. Lo and behold 2 days later my hubby has to make a couple of calls 1 to the 24 hour helpline at the hosp, who after listening to him gave him NHS 24 number and a doctor turned up to examine me and told me it was off to hospital I was going.Went in our own car and was admitted...
