    Myeloma - 'You're all different'
'We can't tell you, you are all different' became such a standard response that I gave up asking what came next! My cover is always to appear upbeat but I have found this not actually negative but no better than neutral approach to any difficulties or side effects added to my problems rather than helping. I was diagnosed in June 2008, given all the info by my consultant, of whom I will hear no ill, with a support nurse in attrendance and sent home to start taking the pills the next day. Mercifully...

    mom
Hi all! I'm new here. I just need a spot to right down everything just to get it out before I lose my mind. My mom, Barbara, who is 59 years old has been diagnosed with an incurable form of lung cancer. It has spread to the right frontal lobe on her brain. She is very upbeat, but very tired. She gets radiation 5x's a week and chemo once a month for 3 hours. She got her first chemo last week and is so very tired and drained, all she wants to do is sleep. They said this will pass as her body adjusts...

Good news about cancer (for England at least)
Hi everyone, I've just been sent this document (for my unrelated paid employment) but it includes some rather good news about cancer survival rates in England. Since other parts of the UK that ought to be joined fully with our national health service and not run separately, in my opinion, aren't reported on I can't say how those other country's rates are doing, but I would presume they would be similar. I am part Scottish and I have to say I don't agree with this kind of thing being separated. That...

Today though i,ve got this dull ache in my armpit. I also have breast lymphodema. Has anyone got any advice? Should i go back to the breast clinic if it carries on? Love Cherylxxx

    non hodgkins lymphoma older people
my husband has so far done well with his NHL a small amount of initial chemotherapy chlorambucal and prednisolone. After four years and 4 month checkups. There is also the dry mouth problem, out of breath....goes on. However, we were very surprised when he had a heart attack. Being near the hospital was a life saver, for after three days in he had an angioplasty and a stent in one heart artery. He seems about the same, hopefully with less circulation problems .... keeps to his routine...

    Home at last
My husband Bob is home at last [been home for about 2 wks now] and seems to be settling in. So wonderful for myself and the family to have him home, no more travelling 2hrs a day there and back and having to leave him in the evenings. Mind you we would have travelled to the end of the earth and back again for him. He is starting to feel very fed up now though, his mind tells him he wants to do things but his body will not let him. Try to tell him its only been 4wks since op and its going to take...

Making a decision without being given a stage/grade??? Is this how it is??
Hello I am posting this really for advice for my sister who is 46 and just been told she has invasive ductal cancer in her left breast. She had a negative mamograme after finding a small lump beneath her nipple, went for an ultrasound and had a biosy, then was told by her surgeon to make a decision as to what treatment she wants to pursue. He could not tell her what stage or grade it was and is not clear if her lymph nodes are affected. She was given a Breast cancer folder to read but as i am...

    Daughter's cancer
Hi, I just recently joined, having been on the 'other side', the Macmillan Share site, for almost a year now. Our lass, C has had lymphoma now for over 4 years, diagnosed 20th October 2004. she has had a great deal of treatment, all the usual 'gold standard' stuff, ABVD, ESHAPP, BEAM, Radiotherapy, nothing killed this stuff off so she had a trial drug at the Christie hospital, a 12 week once weekly infusion which ended in September 2006. Miraculously, ever since then she seems to have been relatively...
