scans were clear thank god but treatment has been changed as the p.c.t refused herceptin before her surgery but she can have it after .so now shes on fec for six cycles before surgery .had first one yesterday so now were on the road to recovery .met some lovely ladys yesterday and it really helped my mum knowing shes not on her own they seem like a right bunch of jokers had me and mum in stiches it was more like a chimps tea party than a cemo session .
Today mum had her appointment with the surgeon, thankfully they are going to operate to take away the breast in round two weeks.
Such a relief to know its not her time yet and that we have more time with her, it will not cure it but at least something is being done about it.
She is a different person now, alot happier that it can be taken away, although it is still alot to deal with having it removed, she doesnt seem to mind much, as long as it is taken away.
just hoping next time round it wont...
Hi again. So finished Radiotherapy on March 15th, about 16 days ago. Had my scan last week (with so much dye I must have glowed!!). Had the results today and a chat with my surgeon.....
IT'S WORKED!!!!!
The tumour under my breastbone, that had the radiotherapy has shrunk significantly. So it shows that my tumours, in the future should respond to radiotherapy, if they are somewhere where they can't operate. Yippee. Good news.
Then it gets better. The tumour by my kidney hasn't grown at...
…..don’t panic!! I’m not about to burst into song, I promise. That would be far too cruel of me. Aren’t rainbows the most beautiful, awesome natural creations? I still see them through the eyes of a child and feel all tingly and amazed whenever I spy one. I’ve no idea if my reaction is because of their magnificent yet simple colours, a fascination with the power of nature or a wish to hold on to innocent childhood fantasies of Leprechauns leaving crocks of gold at their ends...

hello everyone, i would like to ask the community if anyone has had ent treatment at nottingham hospital, especially on the surgical side, i ask because there has been a twig held out to me recently with regard to a possible rebuild, no promises etc, so im just wondering if they are a bit more experienced than the queen elizabeth with my particular problem area and rebuilding. thank you
Hey everyone, well been on new pain meds now for a week these are slow release to keep pain levels low and have top-ups to take for break through pain. Well I have to say they're not working in as much pain as before and seem to be popping pills an awful lot just to get through the day. I'm seeing pain control nurse this afternoon so I'm really hoping she has an answer. Also suddenly started to feel very emotional and want to cry all the time which is very unusual for me as I never cry...
Started the chemo 1650m twice daily, not sure wthere this is a high dosage or not, but that's what's been prescribed. I have my first radium tratment scheduled for this afternoon, so a big day of firsts. Also started my daily log to keep track of times of medication and whether any side effects...fingers crossed. Not much else to say.
Am feeling a little bit miffed as my count is so low, having felt so well through this first chemo. I know its only a week I've got to wait but yet again am having to cancel a few days away with my family, which we were so looking forward to seeing the sea!!!
Just goes to show we have to take each day, week, appointment as it comes cause the big C seems to make all the decisions for us :-(
Sorry to grumble, I know I shouldn't but better out than in ehh?
Tomorrow we fly to the UK for Ron's mum's funeral on Thursday. A lot of the family will be gathered together and I think that a lot of people are going to be upset by the change in Ron since they last saw him. He hasn't been very good today and, even to me, looks ill.I have a feeling that his dad has been minimising the problem to his sister etc and it is going to be very hard on both Ron and myself explaining. His next chemo session should have been Thursday but it has been put back a week(the chief...
