update

Less than one minute read time.

Today mum had her appointment with the surgeon, thankfully they are going to operate to take away the breast in round two weeks.

Such a relief to know its not her time yet and that we have more time with her, it will not cure it but at least something is being done about it.

She is a different person now, alot happier that it can be taken away, although it is still alot to deal with having it removed, she doesnt seem to mind much, as long as it is taken away.

just hoping next time round it wont come back so quick, as last time it spread and grew back in 6 weeks.

still scared at what the future will hold, i know there will be a day when they cannot operate anymore, not sure im ready to deal with that just yet. but for now knowing that she has a date for an opp is good news.

    Hi Zoe,

I've had 3 ops on my left breast and one under my left arm (I'm 39).  I look very lopsided but with careful dressing you can disguise the difference.  Tell your mum, once she feels better and the weather starts to improve go and get a new wardrobe!!!  avoid plain light colours I'd say.  I still wear v necks and things.   Just get over the op and live for now.  I'm having my 12th operation in 2 weeks time.  I look like I've been mauled by a shark but underneath I'm still me.  You have to be strong to deal with this horrible disease.  Wear your scars with pride!!!!

    xx

    Hi Zoe,

All my best wishes go to you, your mum & your family. I hope the op goes well and your mum recovers quickly. As Charley says, go out with your mum on a girly shopping spree for new clothes - it's amazing how something so simple (yet pricey!) can help you both feel a bit better & a bit closer.

    Love Angie xx
