I am really struggling here, my dad (I am his only child) is in the final few months, probably weeks. He is at home at my house I have two teenage children and a husband.
My dad is always rude and snappy and wants to know why I am not doing things quick enough for him. He doesn't want to go to a hospice and I don't want him to either but I am scared about losing everything including my mind and then I feel selfish because of the position he is in.
Is it right to be angry at him? It is...
The loss of my beloved fiance in recent weeks has been the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. Since he passed however, I have experienced a number of things, which some might put down to pure coincidence, but seem to me, to be signs from him that he is still around. Am I clinging on to mere coincidences after the devastation of losing my dear fiance or is he really still with me - as he promised he would be? I would love to hear from other members about any experiences they may have had or just what...

On the 2nd of march 2010, I was on this site thrilled that we had been told Tom's Gliobastoma brain tumour was in remission sadly now that is'nt so.On the monday 2 weeks ago we had just recieved tha fabulous news that our daughter was pregnant again after miscarrying three month's ago and then the bomb shell that Tom only has about 3 month's left, so he won't see the baby! so you can imagine we are all devastated!! Somebody said to me that it can't get worse than this, but I say...

Hi all,
Bit of a funny day today or maybe my expectations were too high. I have been to see my consultant and was hopeful that my CA125 had gone down after 2 cycles of Caelyx. It was 202 before starting treatment and now it is 234. "Oh ", I said "it's gone up!". "No" said my consultant, "A rise like that is nothing, it's stable". Previously, on carboplatin/taxol, there had always been a considerable drop and I suppose I was expecting the same this time....
Everyone keeps telling me about someone they know who got through this and is currently fine.Which is lovely and encouraging of course but it always turns out that they had a 'better' cancer than mine.Mine is HER2 positive, fortunately at least now. treatable to some extent with herceptin. But ,let us kid not, a nasty cancer all the same.Still, I know that it is not the only factor involved, and there are loads of stories of people surviving quite against the odds.I'm trying to stick to an organic...
Its three weeks since my beautiful sister passed away and i seem to be getting worse week by week. I want to burst out crying all the time. I'd only just started a job as a support nurse in the beatson oncology centre and had to go back this week. The patients are lovely and kept me going, but i am so gutted to see people going home, when i know my sister is never getting the same opportunity.
She had an infection and went back in for treatment, but we never expected this. I spent every day...
Monday morning and the start of another week, can't believe I've been away from school for five months, never had that much time off (apart from when the children were little), but finding loads to do and keeping very busy, have borrowed my friends teenage sons cross trainer which is hilarious to use!
Thursday takes me to see my Onc the lovely Dr. Bryant and bloods tests etc to see if I can have chemo number 4.
Am anxious not had Docetaxel before and having three cycles, just hoping not...
…….whoops! It broke. Who needs mirrors anyway? Any good friend worth their salt would tell you if you had a bit of greenery stuck in your teeth or if you’d dribbled your spaghetti down your chin. Picture this. Take one friendly but hungry hamster. Take one bag of hamster snacks. Put hamster and hamster snacks in a small enclosed space and let the hamster stuff his little podgy face. When he’s stuffed and has cheeks bulging with goodies, carefully remove him from the enclosed...
