Just back from the dressing clinic. Sluff removed from inside wound and repacked with alternative to keltostat which seems to be liked by some nurses and hated by others. Todays nurse suggested the graft was nearer 80% than 90% but its hard to tell as the wound just fills up with fluid all the time. Goind back tomorrow. Hopefully i will get the same nurse, the most impressive so far. Isnt it strange how different nurses have different opinions?
Pain level after appointment is 7/10 but i dosed up...
……when there’s no-one around. Quite apt words I suppose. Clowns do cry and so do Bad Fairies. This blog post has been rambling around my head for a while and after a few “moments” this week I feel I can now put the detail to it and be brave and share. I’m very conscious of the fact that I tend write as I think and most of the time I’m naturally quite cheerful and chirpy. Sometimes though the tears roll. I’ve always cried, it’s not a new thing. Films...

Never have been that keen on birthdays, Now they are more special, hoping for plenty more to come. My consultant says that I will be very unlucky if the cancer returns, hope he is right

I haven't been here for ages.

After almost 2 years with Tamoxifen which is the only anti hormonal medicine for women my age(that and shots or surgery to put the ovaries to sleep), and after trying for a short time a med for post menopausal women, doc said it's about time to move on to chemo. Even though I knew it was the only option, I was so scared when he said it out loud. So now, about 5 weeks after I started the new treatment of chemo...
Don't know if any of you have read the Daily Mail today - but for any of you who are suffering from rare forms of cancer, there is an article front page about a lady who has a very similar type of cancer to me - and her fight for Sunitinib, which is one of the only drugs that has proved effective in shrinking endocrine tumours. I'm aware that Macmillan are running a campaign for rarer cancer sufferers to have fairer access to drugs, and I have added my (very loud) voice by e-mailing all our local...
Sorry not to have posted for a few days. A great deal has happened. I have had m y 5 sessions of Radio Therapy. No problems at all. Just waiting for my hair to fall out!! I can honestly say it wasn't too bad. Wearing the mask was fine - white mesh one without any holes for mouth or anything but wasn't uncomfortable.
I have seen two more doctors who now say I have tumours in my lungs as well. I have asked about any treatment - operations etc. and they say nothing would work. I even have a...
