Saw the consultant today.
MGUS confirmed!
X-rays clear & bone marrow plasma cells only 1%.
He did discuss Myeloma but doesnt predict any problems for decades if at all.
Due to only being 40 years old he's going to follow me up in clinic rather than handing over to the GP.
Next appointment in 6 months for repeat bloods.
If only small or no change, annual follow up after that.
Yay!
Thanks for all suport guys!.xxx
My 88yr old mum-in-law has been suffering from the early stages of Alzheimers for the last 2 years & I am her main carer. She hasn't seen or spoken to her only sister Doreen (who lives close by) for several years as they have always had a bit of a volatile relationship with each other - both having strong characters. My hubby hadn't seen his aunt either but I have recently been bumping into his cousin at the supermarket & his aunt Doreen has been made aware of her sister's failing...
I have not been on the site for a while as there was a lot of doubt about the genuineness of people and accussations of people being too negative, but things are still going down hill and I needed to let off some steam where no one knows me and I can rant without people saying that I should just be grateful that he is still here.
Dad has had a really hard time recently with an operation on his spine, a tumour taken off his face and now being told that the cancer has spread to his bones. Life does...
It wasn't a particular good day today went to visit Mo with Sue my neighbour but while we were there Mo was in quite a lot of pain. Its always very hard for anyone visiting to see Mo growling and grimacing when her pain flared up as Sue and I did today. All you can do is try and calm Mo down by stroking her head whilst holding her hand, something Sue was doing continually and it surprisingly works. I immediately informed the nurses that Mo was in pain, even though we aren't all sure if thats all it...
My mum and I went to visit Mo today while we were there Carol turned up,I was expecting her but she arrived a bit later than she thought. We all went into Mo's room, normally I try not to swamp Mo with visitors but I thought 'What the hell!!'it won't hurt just this once as long as we all don't try to talk to Mo at once lol. Carol said her Hello's to Mo and gave her some kisses, well several actually and Mo was just as happy to get them. Anyway Carol,my mum and me talked amongst ourselves knowing full...
I am aware that some people don't like silly and want to know what they are going to read in blogland... so this one is not for anyone who loves sympathy and head tilts from people and the poor you type comments. The rest of you reporbates, another silly on its way...
I realised my last blog was getting me a telling off and I didn’t want that (and I will do less next week I promise...) so I thought I would do a quick one about today to distract you from the last one...
As I said before...
Hi all, just thought I would give you a run down on whats kept me away for sooooo long!!
So are the pills helping....yes I think they are. He seems a bit more mellow but still able to function. He does seem to get tired quicker....is that the pills or the depression or the effects of "c" ??????
As the colder days draw in, his speech is failing him, this leads to frustration cos I cant always understand what he is saying. He also suffers a lot of pain too from the cold. He still agrees...
