Only have 5 minutes to wirte this before I have to go to my onc appointment to find out how bad the recurrance is and what treatment etc is needed, but realy need to blurt for a bit.
So on top of all this worry and fear about this appointment today, which to be honest although I do try and be big tough and brave has realy not been very easy, this morning I woke up to an email to say that I got a job interview so am totally freaking out.
Its for a job as a lecturer in Australia...
I will be 28 years old on the 24th of June. I have taking 3rd FEC on the same day. I wish otherwise. I wish things had been different. I dont want to spend my birthday feeling sick and cant even have a makeup birthday until 5-7days afterwards.
I just hope and pray that 2011 will be a better year and beginning of a great life for me.
hey evry1,hope evry1"s ok x
Just got back from my MRI.Now im not a wimpy girl, have a high pain threshhold and dont scare easy, but today has worn me out. I couldnt even open my eyes, didnt even look at the machine, had the plates placed on my stomach and strapped in place, headphones put on and panic button in hand. The only way to describe it is like being put in a coffin with load sounds like machine guns, bangin, lazers, just very uncomfortable.Filled up a few times but didnt wanna move to make...
My Chemo Suite cheerfully informed me today that there has been a policy review on appointments, and as a result we shall henceforth have our consultations on different days from our treatment. "WTF???" as my nephew would say.
The reason for this breathtaking piece of blue skies thinking is to reduce long waits for consultations. So now I have to drag myself to hospital (mine 30 miles away) twice every 3 weeks instead of once, not to mention ad hoc scans, radioactive blasts, sundry organ...
My scans have come back showing no signs of cancer anywhere other than the original tumour site discovered a couple of weeks ago. Yippee! What a massive relief.
I was told far more than I expected over the phone. The proposed course of treatment will be five weeks of radiotherapy and chemo (the latter being a low dose I gather which helps the effectiveness of the radiotherapy). The five weeks is Monday to Friday with time off for good behaviour at weekends. I then rest for 4-6 weeks and have another...

Hi all, my name is Linda i am 57 yrs old and live in Southort, Merseyside.
I'm not really one who writes Blogs etc but felt i would give it a try and see how it goes. If it gets a bit too heavy please let me know.
My experience's upto date:
My first encounter with the hospital came at the end of March, my Doctor asked referred me to the hospital to be checked out because i developed badly swollen ankles and legs. I was kept in overnight and given a clot busting injection. I was also given...
I realise looking at the blogs on this site, that I have a long journey ahead. Tomorrow I expect a call from the Colorectal nurse booking me in to see the consultant to discuss treatment in light of whatever is revealed by the MRI and CT scans. I just hope that the results get to the multidisciplinary meeting in time and we're not delayed by a week (these meetings are every Thursday morning in MK I gather). And then of course I hope to hear that the cancer hasn't spread and there is a clear...
