    Hi IB,

Sorry no-one has responded to your post, but not a lot of melanoma patients receive radio and chemotherapy.  Which hospital is treating your brother?  Side effects from chemotherapy can vary depending on which drug or combination of drugs are given, do you know what your brother is receiving?

Starts his second cours of chemo on tuesday. His face is blistering  near his eye and his mouth has  very sore ulcers from the daily radiotherapy.

    Hi

They said when they start my radiotherapy I am not to wash it with water, or let anything touch the skin at all. Keep it as air free as possible. No swimming, no shaving, no touching.

The radiotherapy acts like really bad sunburn but they have offered me a special powder they say I can treat it with but I don't know the name of it yet.

Its very important not to treat it with anything other than what my oncologist said except this powder and to leave it to breathe.

All the side effects will go once the treatment has stopped but in the meantime your brother will have to try to hang in there.

With regards to chemo I read up on this link here

    glamotherapy.wordpress.com

I live in Cyprus and as my melanome originally found on my back spread to my lymphnodes and tissue I will be starting radiotherapy and chemo soon after if not at the same time.

When I get mouth ulcers I find cold milk very soothing.

Big hugs to you and your brother. xxx
