Hello
Well this is my first blog. Havnt felt the need to write down how I am feeling before but right at this moment.....I do.
So-a year ago last week!!!
That was op day-the day my life changed!!
For those who already know my story-I apologise for repeating myself but here goes:
I was diagnosed with cancer of the voice box and, to cut a very long and probably tedious, story as short as possible I have had my voice box, trachea (from neck up) and oeasophagus (never bnow how to spell that!!) removed...
Watching the local news on Monday night, spotted my partner's consultant on TV, scurrying away from an Inquest. Amused to seeing him smoothing his hair down on camera, never suspected he was image conscious! He is an incredibly clever man but at times my partner says he feels as if the Prof is talking to a batch of cells rather than to a person.
My partner had an afternoon and evening at home, he put up a shelf and then watched the World Cup in the evening. It's good to see him having some energy...
This is the hardest post i have ever written so bear with me. There is 2 things i need to say to you all.
1. Im Sorry
2. Thank you
Im sorry if i have caused you pain or grief, hurt or upset. Clearly i didnt think very hard before what i done. I know that most of you know what happened so im not going to repeat it.
Thank you to everyone who has PM me or left messages - i have seen all the posts and i have to say you all touched me - i didnt realise so many of you cared.
I cant explain why i done...
Hi everyone, need your help
I finished my radio on 12/4/10. my hair has started to grow back it is about 2 inches long.
Am getting married on the 2/9/10 but my hair is grey and need to colour it. I had no reaction to the radio treatments.Has anyone had their hair coloured professional as this is the road i want to go down.
Well I was all set to go this morning. Got up at 5.30am and arrived at the hospital for my second operation - liver rfesection. Changed into my gown, dvt socks etc. Usual preparations made - usual visits from different medical professionals and then to wait ... and wait... and wait (6.5 hours to be precise). Operation cancelled as there had been an emergency.
Now I have no problem with prioritising need and I would never say that what happened wasn't right - it was. BUT I feel gutted as I'd psyched...
Just thought l would give you all a warning. Turkey is a no go area for cancer patients. MIA on line have told me they will not cover anyone with health conditions going to Turkey because they have had too many claims.Just thought if any one was making plans to go it might be as well to change your destination.
looks like l will be going with out health cover again, oh well "just dont tell my oncologist"
best wishes Rosie
