What a big difference a year makes ... this time last year I was so ill and everything was so much 'up in the air' I had convinced myself it would be my last Christmas. Well here I am still in remission (touch wood) and have just put the tree up and made our living room all Christmassy, a task that took me 4 days in short bursts last year. What a week ... grandma still in hospital, has got chest drain out now and is looking much better although still very breathless. She is being assessed to come home and we're just waiting for them to get the oxygen sorted out for her first, hopefully she will be out of hospital on Monday. Not really sure what to expect because although the tumor is confined to her lung at the moment they can't operate or give chemotherapy…
Decided to contact my union rep to attend the next meeting with my manager and occupational health to try and make sure that things are sorted this time. While on the phone to the rep he checked with the branch secretary and then told me that I need to get the signing off note from my doctor (have appt for 9am on Monday) and then work would have to let me back or put me on paid leave until they sort things at their end…
