    I cannot fathom how Peter can look so well on the outside  yet be so wafty on the inside, but that is how it is. Luckily with fantastic medical care he has managed to drag himself back to near normality, and we can once again enjoy life and live it.

     The 2nd attempt at a family hot air balloon flight was cancelled yesterday due to high wind .

    Peter has rallied so well that  we decided to kick up our heels ,while we can.

    Friday we shopped for new clothes as he has lost so much weight he was looking like a little boy in his dads suit.,we bought nice summer shirts, chinos even sunglasses, then as he is eating better each day we enjoyed a leisurely pub lunch followed by a boat trip round the harbour later we sat and watched the sunset over the sea absolutely brilliant…

  • End of chemo update.

    The results confirmed what we had already guessed

    End of chemo CT scan was  inconclusive its difficult to measure the oesophageal  tumour as the stent is pushing it outwards. and the metastisis found on the 2nd  Pet scan which deemed him not suitable for surgery have never shown on CT.

    Peter was offered a PET to redefine what is happening metastatic wise. but after a long discussion we decided not to have it. because does…

    Each year Peter and I construct Advent Calenders for our Grandchildren a tradition that started because they couldn't eat chocolate/sweets. The calenders are  large as each day contains a present, every year has been different one year we made an icicle  out of a cane pea wigwam sprayed it silver and white and hung the presents on it in hand made snow balls. Last year different size white boxes made a a snow mountain…

  • Calling Time.

    The Dr was right this cycle 8 is  tough.  Peter , who has coped  stoically to date has hit the wall.

    He sleeps most of the time, has stopped eating and drinks very little, the weight is falling off him and he has had enough, Its horrid for him to feel so bad he says he would rather roll over and give in than carry on like this.

    Peter has a CT scan booked on 5.07 2013 to inform what palliative treatment /care is offered…
