The results confirmed what we had already guessed
End of chemo CT scan was inconclusive its difficult to measure the oesophageal tumour as the stent is pushing it outwards. and the metastisis found on the 2nd Pet scan which deemed him not suitable for surgery have never shown on CT.
Peter was offered a PET to redefine what is happening metastatic wise. but after a long discussion we decided not to have it. because does it really matter if they have changed the treatment options are still the same. and our aim is a good comfortable quality of life.
The plan now is continue on Herceptin until symptoms suggest progression, he will be assessed every 3 weeks by the team. He has commenced a couple of weeks steroids to try and kick start his appetite. and will have another MUGA heart scan.
Peter is slowly improving from the chemo body blow. with the assistance of the dextramethosone
The skin on his hands and feet is not cracked and is less brittle. he is tired but not the bone weary fatigue of the last few weeks. he has got the munchies ...yipee so is eating and drinking again..
He feels better and has gone fishing with his friend today Its amazing this time last week he was in agony on morphine. how lucky are we its marvelous.
I know the steroids have pumped him up but it is never the less so good to have him back,.
While he is on this high I am arranging a special family day for Sunday thought we could have some fun and make happy memories.
