Update - good news

Hello ladies

I posted on here recently about a PMB & upcoming tests. Went to the hospital today and had TV scan. My womb lining is nice and thin apparently so no need for hysteroscopy (phew). Also there was no blood when they checked. So apparently it is to do with the menopause & declining oestrogen levels & getting my HRT dosage right. Unrelated to the bleeding, they did find a small ovarian cyst which means I have to go for another scan in 4 months to make sure it hasn't grown any bigger. So in a year I've gone from cervix to womb to ovary!!! Good job I went for my cervical screening last year or none of this would have been found.

I feel hugely relieved and would like to thank all of those on here who have supported me. This whole experience has helped me to understand how scary these experiences are and I hope it has made me a better person!

Love & hugs to all

  • Great news, hopefully your ovarian cyst gets sorted I hear they can be very uncomfortable. Glad that having a cervical screening has found out these problems for you too, we all know how important being screened is but not something we always feel comfortable doing. Hope to hear your scan in four months will be OK too.

  • Hi GBear thank you so much for your kind reply. To be honest I hadn't even realised the cyst was there as it is just a small one. Have checked on the NHS website and as I am postmenopausal the policy is to keep an eye on it every 4 months & then if they don't like the look of it they might remove it. Have just looked at your profile and it looks as though you have been through a lot; big hugs and thank you for caring x

  • So pleased you got good news, and hopefully your cyst won't cause you any problems.

    Hugs, Lesley xx

  • Hi Lesley

Thank you so much for your message. It means a lot that you care. Yes, I hope the cyst turns out not to be too much trouble but at least now.they know it's there it will be monitored. Today I read my patient copy and it says it's my left ovary but I can't work out if that's my left or the left from where the person doing the scan is looking! lols! Didn't think to ask at the appointment! As long as they know their right from their left it should be ok. Am shattered today with relief. I have to have another TV scan in 4 months to check the cyst as that's the protocol if you're post menopausal. They said they check it to make sure it hasn't grown. It is a small one atm which is probably why I hadn't realised it was there.

    • Hope you are having a good weekend x

  • I would think they mean your left ovary but that's only a guess!  And you know now that they will be keeping an eye on you now so you have that reassurance.

I am busy making masks - my daughter is getting married next Saturday and we all have to wear them for the service!

Gosh, that's a lot of anxiety in a short space of time! Sometimes it begs the question "Why can't you make your mind up people?" Anyway I'm pleased that you got positive results and I sincerely hope that the pesky cyst isn't going to give you more trouble. You are a very strong ( and patient) lady. Love and hugs ,God bless love lamb.xx

Congratulations to you and your daughter. I hope you all have a wonderful day. That's a different keepsake..sign of the times. Are they having little embellishments on them? Love and hugs, God bless. Lamb.

  • Congratulations to your daughter

  • Thank you so much Little Lamb - I don't feel very strong atm bur usually I am quite strong. I had a bit of a day off from the world today and a nana nap this afternoon then nipped to Sainsbury's as run out of cat food; back to reality; life goes on and an irate and hungry cat can be quite annoying and persistent! I like your profile name! My grandfather and great grandfather were shepherds so lambs are something my family are rarher fond of. I think the pesky menopause has been the cause of some confusion over the last year. My Mum passed away in 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer's so I've had a run of difficult times. However I have immense respect for the nursing, hospital and caring professions as a result - even before the pandemic. Hope you are having a good weekend. Thank you for taking the time to write to me x

  • Congratulations to your daughter! It's nice to hear some good news in these difficult times! I think it's so important to remember there are so many positives in life. Nearly all of my great aunts and uncles got married during the second world war and had very small weddings with at least one of them in uniform but I remember them as very caring people who valued life. I found out a few years that one of my favourite great uncles was a prisoner of war in the East. I always knew he only had one kidney which I found fascinating as a child! He was the kindest man you'd ever meet and I thought of him whilst watching the VJ footage today. The health scares I've had over the last year have been tough but are probably less scary than what people went through back then.

Thank you so much for all the support - hope the wedding goes well
