Does anyone get itching and mild swelling of the vulva/fourchette area during their period? I do have dryness and a split in the fourchette area but after applying coconut oil it appears to be getting better. I completed my 16 week course of Aldara 2 weeks ago. Treated with Aldara following surgery WLE For Vin 3. I had positive margins. I had my check up with the vinegar test 3 weeks ago the consultant said it all looks ok. I’ve only just gone back to work so just started wearing tights again. Could it be that my vulva is trying to get back to a new normal?! I’m starting to freak out because I know I have HPV of that area. I’m wondering if it’s changing to VIN because I’ve stopped the Aldara? I’ll be grateful for any help or advice. X
Hello Jane, I’ve noticed the exact same thing. It’s almost like whatever hormonal changes we go through at that time seems to make you itch further. I would tell your gp though so you can get peace of mind. I’m sorry that your suffering so much. I wish I had better news for you. I didn’t find that Aldara helped me at all. It left me sore and uncomfortable with no real positive effects. I was being treated with freezing of the patches I had on my vulva for 5 years before a lady finally said to me... why are you here? I said because I was told I have warts. She said to me these are not warts and finally I got told I had hpv and the patches they were freezing and burning was actually vin3. Since then it’s been surgery after surgery and I’m expecting to have number 19 around next March if I’m lucky enough to go that long. My surgeon is amazing and even though I’ve had so many my vulva area still looks ok thank fully. I’m using a dermovate ointment as aldara was so harsh! Good luck with it all xxx
it’s so hard when I was first diagnosed I really struggled to cope. Now the bad days are less but with this condition you just don’t know what’s going to happen. I’ve had the HPV vaccine and I’m taking a number of vitamins including AHCC & B12 to try and stop it coming back. How do they treat the AIN? I’ve got to be assessed for that in January. Where are you based?? England?
take care xx
