Mum has been experiencing really bad thigh pain and lower leg. Pain relief inc. morphine temporarily helps. Is there anything we can do ? any holistic approach? exercise? Please help.
Hi Winnie25,
I don’t know what area of the country you live but here in Southampton, the hospital has a Macmillan centre and also Maggies centre too. They offer complementary therapies, massage, reiki etc. It may well be worth contacting your Mum’s consultant or Macmillan nurse to see if they can offer something like that.
Wishing your Mum all the best and hope she can get some help.
Thank you for your reply . We are in Bham I will look into that . My mum has been put on palliative care despite her doing well with radiotherapy . The hospital is not interested in treatment or advice.
You are welcome, I hope you can get something sorted. I think the hospital should help your Mum, that is awful. Best wishes
Hi, yes mum had surgery last year it went very well. Was due to have lymph node biopsy she developed overnight an open sore which is yet slightly healing. Had radiotherapy hospital decided to put on palliative as there was some groin node spread on CT. Any issues we have the docs put it down as “disease progression “ despite mum being well at times.
I had a full vulvectomy and removal of lymph nodes in Jan this year, lymph nodes came back clear. I now have lymphadema in my stomach and thigh pain, possibly due to nerve damage. It took a fre months to get to the lymphadema clinic, and another month yet to see what going on with my thigh. I have not yet been back to see my consultant, hopefully it will be soon. I have questions to ask, no one on this site seems to be going through what I'm going through
Mum not had lymph nodes removal yet she was doing well . It started after radiotherapy she developed severe pain in thigh and stomach too. She not have fluid build up. it is definitely nerve related. Have you tried black seed oil ? Try using that as a massage. Hope you get well soon.
