I have recurring dVIN. I had a small bit of Vulva cancer removed in Dec 2023 and so consultants keen to remove dVIN as soon as it appears. I've had two WLE back to back since May this year and still showing cells up to the margin. Next step is mapping biopsy and decision on more surgery or possibly Imiquimod cream. Doc says current thought is most people apply too heavily and therefore too painful & give up before treatment is effective. Has anyone had experience of this treatment?
Yes I have. Unfortunately I was told to put it on and around the entire area and I was sooooo burned and it hurt really bad. Had I been told to use it the way you are describing, it could have been an entire different outcome.
That was right before a lump appeared in my groin where the cancer had split off. They removed the tumor in my groin then I did radiation at my vulvar and chemo. The lesions on my vulvar are completely gone without surgery there
