Hi,
Well back home now from my opperation to remove my testicles I did end up losing both and have got a cut on each side of the groin. Still very sore and uncomfortable. Not to bruised round my wounds but my scrotum is quite bruised and looks bigger than normal and feels like there is something in there my question is this normal? I think I read on other post that this can happen I am new to all this and still in shock from the whole thing as this opperation happen very quick really.
I went into Crummsell in Manchester and they were fantastic my doctor though that it was best to remove my other testicle because there was a risk it could end up with a lump like my left on and while they were removing my left testicle they might as well remove the right . So all in all I think it went ok like I said feeling very sore and have my staples out in ten days and have a follow up meeting to discuss test results in 3 weeks. Any advise on the scrotum area and swelling would be greatful.
Thank you
Darryl
A tough day.
Was it testicular cancer last time? did you have any treatment other than the orchidectomy?
Greg
Hey Blondo,
So sorry to hear your in that situation, I had the same but mine was 20 years ago when Mr lefty was taken away from me, and 4 years ago when Mr righty decided to give me grief and he was taken too. horrible feeling, and a thousand thoughts go through your mind, and what if's and how's and your mind is playing games with you. It really isn't that bad, I had implants so when am swimming or sports they both look pretty normal except a little tighter, but that doesn't bother me now, you will adapt hard at first but you will get there, I promise you this. If you need to discuss in private, send me a message and will be as honest as I can mate, but remember, you are not alone and the people on here are brilliant, you can rant and rave and we are on your side, when I first came on here a few years ago, my rants were on a daily basis, didn't know what to do, no one to talk to, we're friends on here so never be scared to have a rant, trust me you feel better afterwards.
Hope this helps mate and all the bestÂ

My mind is all over the place. My fear is , and I no the answer, I can't have real sex with my wife again.Â
Hi Blondo,
You don't need testicles to have real sex, just testosterone, and you can get that in little sachets - it definitely does the trick.
What was the diagnosis after the orchidectomy last time? what did they find? it sounds as if you didn't have any other treatment?
Greg
Hi,
Well if that was 'just' carboplatin as the chemo, then there's a full arsenal of other treatments that should cope with the new diagnosis, and 98%+ successful. As for libido, then testogel does the job very well indeed. I know it's not the news you wanted, but you've been through this before and you can again, and there's every possibility of a successful outcome.
When are you going for your scan? Can you check with your doctor which blood markers are elevated?
Greg
Hello. All you guys are very brave. There really should be more support groups for men. And there should be support groups for the wifes and girlfriends of men who go through this. I just had my boyfriend break up with me. He is going to have testicular surgery and might have to have both removed.Â
Both testicles seem affected. They are going to test for cancer before that. They think it could be another condition though. He has sarcoidosis in other part of his body. They thought he got testicular sarcoidosis as well. I really hope they dont have to remove both because we both want children. I am just heart broken right now. I wonder why there isnt more research and better treatments. And it pisses me off that some doctors attitudes seem so quick to go right to surgery and lack the sensitivity for the patients and their families when talking about it. I understand the urgency and testing but omg some doctors can be really insensitive to patients parents. This thing breaks relationships. I really love him and hate seeing him go through this. I dont want someone else. He thinks hes saving me from his problems. Been together for a long time. Please any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Â
Today am told I may loose my two balls  and  am petrified .
If I survive the op will I still live normal life. Have errectipn to satisfy my wife or does it mean the end.
Its important that you get testosterone replacement (sachets or gel to apply to skin or regular injections) sorted straight away if you do end up having both removed.  Don’t let the docs fob you off with waiting even a couple of days to get that started.  Without your testicles producing testosterone, your levels will drop fast and you will feel terrible and things won’t work properly.  With replacement sorted, all should be good and function as normal.
