Hi everyone
I was wondering if anyone has experienced similar to this and whether you are just getting on with it or if it’s worth raising with a doctor?
I had a left orchidectomy in February 2024. Although it was pure seminoma, it was 53mm in size so I was also given a single treatment of carboplatin in May 2024.
Generally now I am feeling well and latest CT/bloods/X-ray came back clear. However, I regularly get an ache in my left side somewhere between the lower rib cage and my upper hip. It comes and goes, and can vary in exact location.
When I last mentioned this to my GP they suggested I just needed to give more time to heal from the surgery. This was a while ago now, is it worth mentioning it again? Or, has anyone else experienced this and found something that works well for them, such as particular stretching exercises?
Many thanks!
Hi SouthWestduck
I am sorry that you have not yet had a reply to your post but sometimes it can just take a little while longer for someone in similar circumstances to see it and respond.
By me replying it will bump your post and hopefully someone will be able to offer some support.
While you are waiting perhaps give the Support Line a call and talk it through with one of the nurses.
I remember during my own cancer being told to report any worries to my team so I would suggest mentioning the ache and hopefully getting some reassurance. It may well be healing from the surgery and chemo as your GP has suggested, however as it is persisting I would recommend letting them know so it can all be monitored.

Hello..
I am 2 years and a bit out from surgery. I had some groin related discomfort for sometime after the initial post surgery stuff, Usually when exercising or moving/ stretching more.. I noted this when cycling too which is what I do mainly for exercise.
It has definitely been much less noticeable as time has gone by. I suspect I think a bit less about it now too which plays a part.
Good luck
TC
