in February I had a surgery for removing left testicul.
and after biopsy results it’s shown that was a Leydig cell tumor,Tumor grade is like Ki67 2%.
Inhibin and Calretinin are positive.
OCT4,CD117,CD30,,AFP,PLAP,panCK are all negative.
one doctor said is malignant but after a week I have appointment with my oncologist.
does anyone have experienced something similar with me or have info about it,I would like to know.
thank u all.
Hi V.E! And sorry you ended up here. I have never heard of that type of cancer you have been diagnosed with. Have you had a CT Scan done after your surgery? Also you mention your tumor markers are ok. Doctors need results from ct scan, tumor markers and pathology to determine what type and what stage is your cancer at. Depending on these, a treatment will be agreed whether it is surveillance, adjuvant chemo or a few courses of chemotherapy or radiotherapy. And by the way testicular cancers are malignant or mixed.
All the best,
Plamen
Hi Plamen.
Btw I had CT scan before surgery, and tumor was only on my left Testis, wasn’t spread any other organ. As I’m searching for info Leydig cell tumors, they r rare tumors that’s what is making me confuse.90% r benign and around 10 % r malignant.
Thanks for replying
Kindly, Eraldo
I don't want to confuse you more but if there is presence of tiny bit malignancy, it should may be considered as mixed and still get the observations. I take it since your tumor markers are normal and there is no spread, you will be on surveillance. Which good news, and don't worry you are in safe hands, even if it spreads (of course hopefully not!) you will be treated on time and you will be fine. You've done your part to go to the doctors, and you are on the path to cancer free, that's what matters!
