Hi all,

My husband had his high dose of carbo chemo yesterday and today keeps having dreadful bouts of hiccups. It sounds like he's going to vomit. He says he's OK, but has anyone else experienced this? Should he report it to the nurse?

TIA

    Hi,

If you haven't already you could try searching on 'hiccup' in the 'search in group' search box. Its bringing back a number of hits so seems like others have experienced the same thing.

    Hi,

yes, it’s a common side effect, caused by the steroids received to help process the chemo through the body.

i was told if it persisted there was medication to try and reduce it, but I found it one of the easier side effects!

    take care
