May I ask;

How many people on this forum are on TRT, Testosterone Replacement Treatment?

I am wondering due to the lack of posts if it is worthwhile for me to continue checking on here daily for comments, as it seems very few post regarding this.

    Hi,

i started on sustanon 3 months ago, it seems to be making a difference.  I am hoping to change to nebido as this is a 3 monthly injection rather than than the 4 weekly with sustanon.

There is a Facebook group checkemlads they have a page and a private group.  TRT gets discussed often on the group.

    Hi Fox1

I’m on TRT, I have been for since May 2017 have had major issues regarding the Testogel within the sachets, then had to switch to the alternative the pump which for me has been problematic. If there are any questions I can help you with I will try my best to help my friend.

What issues did you have with sachets? I prefer sachets to the pump, initially for the first 18 months I was on 2 sachets per day until shortage supply issues, then went onto the pump - 5 pump actions per day.

Now that sachets are back in supply I have returned to 2 sachets per day and my total testosterone is high 20's nmol/L free testosterone within limits too

    Hi Fox 1

Sorry my friend I just read my message back it was the testogel sachets that was working well for me then I had to go on the pump due to supply issues as you know yourself the pump has affected me, where are they supplying you sachets again as I’ve been contacting pharmacists and it’s still unavailable in my area.

im sure my level was 18 when I saw my oncologist, I am going to book in for bloods to see what my level is .

    thank you for your reply

I received a telephone call direct from Besins (the supplier of testogel) informing me that the sachets are back in circulation due to demand and poor results from the pump bottle.

They phoned me in August when I was over in USA, I never put a prescription in until September but did receive 4 boxes of 30 sachets.

when on sachets my level is between 26 - 28 nmol/L "trough" (Before applying gel)

Besins always advise to have your bloods taken before application of Gel.

So lets say you apply on a Tuesday Morning around 07:30 / 8am, you go to your doctor on the Wednesday and have your blood taken 8am BEFORE application

    Hi Guys,

At the start of my treatment my test level was 0.9, i went into the gel for 2 months and it climbed to 5.0 which is still very low.

I have started now the injections. Had my first injection 1 week ago on saturday. It’s muxh easier than messing around with Jel all the time!

Wont know my test levels until Jan 2019 when i next have my appointment and bloods with the Endo!

from what you say above, I take it you had an injection of 1000 mg Nebido (testosterone)

If this is the case, I do hope you are aware that it is normal practice to have a 2nd 1000 mg Nebido injection 6 weeks after the first one.

You then need blood tests around the 9 - 10 week mark to see how much your testosterone levels have dropped, measured in nmol/L,

in saying that it seems you do not have a base line to begin with, so you will have nothing really to go by.

    .

0.9 is extremely low, was this measured in nmol/L and also, what was your other results, care to list them?

What Gel were you on? and how much gel were you applying each day, your results also seem extremely low for being on gel.

Why is your doctor not monitoring your bloods?

you should have bloods taken after 4 weeks of injection to check levels as well as psa, Bilirubins, LH. FSH, SHGBHCT and of course Oestradiol

Again after 6 weeks you should have a full further injection for first starting.

    Care to provide more details

Yes it’s the 1000mg nebido i am having.

i had my first injection last saturday and then one in 6 weeks after that then moving on to every 10/12 weeks depending on my levels.

Yes my first result was 1.0 and my second was 0.9 my test after being on the gel for 2 months was 5.2. Still very low.

The endocrinologist is monitoring my bloods but i only had my first appointment with him on 21st september.

I have already noticed a difference in my body, hair is growing back on my chest and stomach and under my arm pits (never grew back after chemo).

More energy and a very high libido.!

All is going good. I will have to be on this for life my Endo says. A small price to pay for some normality.

    Hi all,,

Just started Nebido yesterday and having stopped Testogel feeling a bit rough, hoping this kicks in soon.

My question is GP insisted on splitting the Nebido shot into 2ml in each buttock, I read that it should be delivered in one full shot, anyone any experience with this?

    Thanks

I have been on Tostran gel for about a month now but because of short supply this prescription has now been changed to Testogel pump. Never been tested for level though. The take on it in Scotland seems to be if you feel ok then you must be applying the right levels. Strikes me as somewhat unscientific. I have been applying the default dose of 60mgm a day. 6 pumps of Tostran which I am told will be 3 pumps of testogel. No noticeable side effects as yet.
