Hi all. Hubby's doc mentioned that if Cancer 'came back' he would be having Radiation. How has this affected you and is there anything you wish you were told? We are a pisitive couple and also like the facts here so please do not hold back. Wanting answers from people going through it as after all they/you would know best x
I had RT without surgery beforehand.
Salvage RT ( RT after surgery) is not that common, it's normally used if surgery isn't successful. I think there are a couple of people who post on here who have been thru this , hopefully they will respond.
I found the RT ok, some side effects during treatment and for about 6 weeks after.
Having the RT after surgery u may find that there are more side effects but not necessarily, could well depend on if there are remaining side effects left from the surgery.
On the positive side hopefully the cancer hasn't returned, I know that u r waiting on psa results.
Steve
