My husband took me completely by surprise the other day by telling me that he wants to get a funeral plan arranged. Ever since his diagnosis he has refused to accept the situation and denies he has prostate cancer and any of the other medical conditions diagnosed in the process of being diagnosed.
he has decided to go with the Co Op and phoned them on Monday to try to arrange a plan, he phoned again yesterday as they haven’t got back to him. I know this is a serious concern for him because he made the call himself rather ask me to do it. I am shocked…not ready for this yet, if I ever will be and very disappointed that the Co Op haven’t phoned him back when every person he talked to said they would get the relevant person to phone him. My husband is unable to walk due to the spread of the cancer to his spinal cord. He has explained that he can’t go to see them.
ii am finding the lack of response and my husband’s need to get his funeral arrangements sorted out all very overwhelming. I can’t imagine life without him and am feeling so lost and lonely, much more so than ever before. The reality of our situation is just too difficult to deal with. I need a big hug but he isn’t able to give it to me.
