Hi everyone.

I am looking for a bit of advice please. My husband is 2years in of being diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. He is doing really well, but the problem is the terrible hot flushes he gets from the hormone injections. He was prescribed venlafaxine, but this didnt help at all.  He was then prescribed cyproterone acetate which has had an awful affect on him. Fatigue, immense tiredness, dizziness & breathlessness.  We have been advised to stop this by his nurse specialist.

He also wakes up about 4 times in the night so is not having a restful nights sleep but has to get up for 6am for work.

Can please anyone recommend any homeopathic drugs which might be able to help him with the hot flushes & insomnia & which also will not interfere with his Zoledex injections and Tamsulosin

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

thank you

Gaily

  • Hi

i have been through the same thing myself, I am on prostap 3 hormone injections, I’ve done all the chemo and radiotherapy, now just injections, I am stage four as well, I asked the oncologist about some help he advised Provera ask your doctor about it, it helped me worth a try.

  • Hi Gaily.

Have a look at this thread from about 10 days ago. In particular my post at #5. The herbal remedies and homeopathic remedy I take for hot flushes work for me.

I hope you find a solution.

To get the best results from homeotherapy it's best to see a trained homepath, who will do a constitutional" assessment and recommend the treatment most suited to your husband.

Unfortunately this has a (relatively small) cost implication.  (£40 plus).

Another route, (in my experience possibly more effective) is to consult a herbalist. Also a cost.

Possibly a less expensive alternative route, (marginlly) is CBD oil, which seems to be the current "universal panacea". Excuse my scepticism on that one, but the source of the oil can help particularly with pain, anxiety and insomnia.  I can't suggest any sources for that, certainly not Holland & Barratt!
