Prostate Cancer - biopsy done, scan clear, feeling happier

I had biopsy today, which wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. The scan doesn’t seem to show that the cancer has spread anywhere else. (Which is a good thing and the thing I was concerned about)

Raised PSA: 121, clinical diagnosis of prostate cancer

MRI shows a 92cc prostate with a right-sided tumour (T3a)(T3a)

Having some tablets to help going to the loo as often during the night. There is another drug, but can’t be supplied/prescribed until I have a scan and fluid injected into my system. (which is to be at Taunton) Then a treatment plan can be implemented. Feeling a lot happier now.

the best of luck to everyone.
Thanks Ged Exe

  • Hi  glad to hear that the biopsy went well.  Never easy waiting for results but if MRI looks contained that is good.  Presume you are having a PET PSMA before HT. Let us know how you get on.

  • Hello

Well if that's all your tests done now it's just waiting for your results and a treatment plan. The good news is the MRI shows it as a T3a and no spread.

However I would still have concerns about the high PSA of 121 (my initial PSA was 182 and I have no spread and a T3a) and the Prostate volume which is double the average size for a man of 65 (I don't know your age). With a large prostate it's worth asking your team if it's interfering with you having a pee and is it growing into your urethra.

It would help us to help you if you added some details to your profile - it also acts a a reminder of where you have been (click on my name or avatar to look at mine). To add to your profile, click on the chair - top right on your home page, then "profile" and then "edit". Once you have written something remember to click on "save".

    Best wishes - Brian.
