Hi all, just a heads up about a prostate biopsy being performed on the telly in the program called 'Inside the Operating Theatre'.
Its on W HD, channel 109 (Sky) at 10pm, Tuesday 18th June (tomorrow night).
No idea if its a TRUS or Template biopsy but as we have all been there, might be interesting to see it from the medical perspective. Some of you may not want to see it again though.....
Regards
Just had a quick search of Freeview's website but its not on their list. Good excuse to go to the pub and watch it there!!!
Its on BT ch 311 or Virgin 125 or Talk Talk 311(its BT).
Do you think the Pub's going to change channel from the football. You're a braver man than me.
If they did, I'd love to see the faces of those watching, that would be more entertaining than watching it.
Probably wet myself laughing.
Sorry, I was too busy watching Ch 5,. OAPs on the game,
more informative.
Well a bit of a let down. The patient was a staff member and he was laid on his side. The doc used ultrasound to guide him for the TRUS biopsy procedure. No close ups of the local anaesthetic needle or exactly where it went. Some distant shots of the nice long needle that grabs the biopsy tissue. So no scary stuff to put men off having this done.
He was pushed in a chair back to the day ward to recover. Lucky him, I walked out and back to the car. No nice nurses fussing round me The biopsies were clear and he had an enlarged prostate so not joining our exclusive club any day soon.
SD.
U would have thought that that they could work out he has enlarged prostate without putting him thru all that
They said he'd had an MRI (no details) - no mention of PSA or DRE (no details) - so beginning to think this was an NHS employee being used as a patient to show the procedure. Very poor compared to the other patients as it was the shortest item on the program so rushed.
Oh well......
Same here! I was hardly there an hour and just walked out to the waiting room where my wife drove me home. Thankfully I had no side effects really and no problems. weeing was a bit uncomfortable and passed blood a couple of times but within 12 to 24 hours I was fine. Would have been lovely to be looked after like that!
