Hello everyone,
As you may know, i’ve recently been offered the option to take part in the spacer jelly trial but I haven’t yet ruled out having a prostatectomy, which i have shied away from at the last minute on several occasions I’m afraid to say.
If anybody on here has had the procedure, I’d be interested to know 1. How they found the day or two in hospital. 2. How they dealt with the catheter and was it easy to manage, and 3. How are you know and have you endured any long lasting side effects, such as incontinence.
Gary.

Ok, I apologise, sounded similar histories and names, I m sure that someone will be along soon who can advise on prostate surgery.
If you go back to a thread that you started a few days ago titled Prostatectomy or Radiotherapy Ido4 gives a good account of his surgery.
There will always be some people who will sail thru the op with no issues and others who do have issues and suffer side effects with varying degrees of severity.
If ED is a major issue for you (and for some it isn't) then probably avoid surgery.
Steve
