Would just like to share our good news. My husbands PSA test has just come back with a reading of 0.05 being diagnosed with advanced PC last January with spread to the bones and a reading of 528 to say we are over the moon is an under statement. I know there may be a time when we will maybe not get good news but for now I’m treasuring the moment. January last year we didn’t know what was ahead of us and simply nothing about PC but because of this forum and the wonderful brave people who have shared their experiences it has helped us through this journey. We take each day at a time and we are so thankful for each and every one of them. So for those who are just starting try not to be afraid pray hard and stay strong.

  • That's good news Dolly, go out and celebrate tonight.

    Regards

    Steve

  • Great news! :-)

    Many congratulations.

Hoping for personal growth and a return to full health
  • Congratulations, we're lucky enough to know how this feels!

Husband started last November and one week ago it was less than 0.1 which is the least our hospital measures.

For now, that's the best news

  • That’s great news. He has responded really well to treatment.

I agree about taking each day as it comes and enjoying life.

    Best wishes,

  • Great news! Could you share details of the treatment he received? I'm going for my first PSA test after radiotherapy in two hours or so and was very happy to read your post!

  • He was diagnosed January 2018 with his symptoms and PSA results we knew it was going to be bad news. He was put on 3 monthly hormone injections and started chemo after his 2nd injection 16 April. His PSA continued to fall from the start of his treatment. He will be on the injections for life and takes a 50mg Bicalutamide tablet every morning.Hope  everything goes well for you and you receive good news.

  • Thanks for that encouragement Dolly. I had a PSA test this morning 12 weeks after finishing RT and have an appointment with the oncologist next Monday. I won't get the result until Thursday so a few days of uncertainty before it comes, but the last one just 1 week after RT was 0.1 so I'm confident that the news will be good.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift.

  • I’m sure it will be fine. Can your oncologist secretary not give you the result. My husband got his taken on Friday morning I phonedthe secretary and asked her could she phone the results to me which she did.

  • Yes, it was 3.1 from 7.4 last July. 4 months after radiation. Hope the next one in 3 months is even lower.
