1 week ago my partner had an MRI scan which identified a 2.6 cm groth on the liver . Now due to covid 19 all following oppointments and cancelled . so where are people going that have been abandonded by the NHS?
Dear Dowell83,
Do not fear too much yet. That is quite small as tumours go when they are discovered AND if it's a hepatocellular carcinoma then that type of cancer is one of the slowest to metastasise.
Mine was 4.5 cm wide when found and I am still alive six years later.
True, I have been through the meat grinder when it comes to treatment, but the early treatments were all spaced out in time over a year before the really hard core work started.
Hopefully, the worst of this COVID-19 thing will be over in a few months and then the focus can return to your partner.
In the meantime, to help with both your and your partner's mental health, I suggest taking control of something that is still an option for you.
Best wishes,
Martyn.
