Hello,
I had Nephrectomy back in June 2019. The cancer was more aggressive than the Urologist initially thought.
I started on the Rampart Trial in September the same year and have had a few scans; I got arm A.
I had my latest scan a fortnight ago and got the results today. I was told that there is something, I think she said a lymph node, in my lung, which one I really cannot remember.
I’ve got to go back with a family member in a fortnight to discuss the next step. So, does this mean the cancer has spread??
This sounds like the cancer's gone to a lymph node. Kidney cancer's slow growing, compared with other cancers.
If it spreads, it can usually be dealt with by medication. Several of us in this group are on long term meds to keep the cancer at bay. There is ordinary medication, eg Pazopanib and also immunotheraphy.
I've had nodules in my lungs for many years - they just keep an eye on them via regular CT scans every 3 to 4 months.
Do ask the family member to take notes of the conversation, especially any answers from the doctor. These can be useful to look back on later.
Let us know how you get on please.
Sue
