Hi everyone,

I am pretty sure I know the answer to this but just need some support.......

My father will be starting a second run of Pazopanib on Tuesday, it’s been two years since his last time and he was taken off early as the side effects were pretty awful for him. I have been in a bubble with my parents and my daughter who is 8, I am not working and obviously my daughter is not at school at the moment, but naturally I have been to the supermarket, my concern is if we should continue to see them in view of dad’s treatment commencing again, god forbid we unwittingly gave them Covid under normal circumstances but whilst he is on his treatment it could be horrific. Do you think we should ‘un-bubble’ whilst he is taking his meds?

  • Hi Letsbeatthis (love the name by the way) I am not from the Kidney group, but have seen that your post has not been answered yet, so I hope you don’t mind me replying.

My Dad has blood cancer, and is currently on treatment.  He was in our bubble, as he lives alone, but once this lockdown started he went back to shielding on his own. It is a difficult decision, as of course your parents will be grateful of the support from you, but you are bound to worry. My own dad made the decision himself to leave our bubble, so the decision was taken out of our hands.

Has your dad had is covid vaccine yet? It is also good news tonight from the prime minister, that we will soon be able to meet outside again, so if you do decide to un bubble it hopefully won’t be for long.

I wish your Dad all the very best on his treatment.

    Take care
