Hi all it's been a while quick recap completed chemo radiotherapy 1 nov 2019 for base of tongue and lymphnode in neck first 3 month check still base of tongue so had operation to remove it on 29th april close margins. Cancer back on different part base of tongue epiglotis and back in lympnode so now more surgery neck dissection professor saying depending on CT chest and neck biopsy I may be referred to the royal Marsden for robotic surgery I cant help but thin I'm never going to win this war as far as its removed it's back my team say its unusual for the treatment not to work .any advice thank you . I'm not sur about this updated site .

  • Hi Bradlou20, i know the feeling well and remember when your journey started. I had cancer 3 times in 3 years all to do with the mouth and neck. I never gave up hope despite it coming back and trusted my consultant and his team as they were just as concerned as i was and never gave up so it was third time lucky. Mine started in 2008 and my last operation was in 2010 and have been told there is very little chance of it returning. Back then robotic surgery was not used so it shows how technology and techniques have changed, for the better, as its less traumatic with fewer scars, etc. All i can say is have faith and hope they manage to stop it this time, best wishes, take care.
