Over the past couple of weeks I've been having the odd pins and needles sensation in my shoulder... lately it has become more frequent with the tingling going up the treatment side of my face/ear and also my hand feels heavy and itchy.. I'm 2 years out, and this has suddenly come about..  contacting docs tomorrow, but any thoughts in the mean time?

  • Hi Loz.....Did you have a neck dissection?

Could it be nerves leaving your neck where you would have had some RT?

Me I'd think about my heart/stroke and go to A&E?

  • It sounds like a pinched nerve but I'm no doctor. I'd still get it checked out

We do get stuff that's not cancer

  • he thinks it's due to neck/shoulder muscles being so tight... I have to massage and stretch, etc... see how it goes..

  • Hi Beau Chapeau

I also have pins and needles on the side of the RT  I had 3 years ago. It started just before Christmas with horrendous pain in neck, shoulder and shoulder blade. I ended in A&E and was told it was frozen shoulder. I had various tests and various specialists and was told the shooting pain I had in my neck was a late side effect of my RT. I also feel numb underneath my left ear (side of my RT). Weird feeling. I was told to have some physio sessions, carry on with my daily massages and see an osteopath. I have a TENS machine which I use from time to time.

  • ahh.. I was told to book with physio, but I'll see how it goes with my daily massages over the next couple of weeks.
