Hi everyone,
I hope you don't mind me posting here today, my name is Rachel and I work as part of the Community team here at Macmillan.
I just wanted to share with you today the most recent volume of our Community News Blog series 'Cancer & me 35 years on'. In this series, Willo, who is known on the Community as patsyann85, writes about her experience of being diagnosed with Anal cancer while living in Zambia in 1986.
Willo shares her experiences of diagnosis, treatment, and everything in between as well as some of her amazing artwork throughout the series.
I wanted to share the latest volume of this blog with you all today as Willo shares her experiences of attending multiple appointments and undergoing several tests to try to understand what is causing the pain and other symptoms she is experiencing.
One of the tests Willo has is a Colposcopy, after her recent cervical screening (sometimes known as a smear test) showed change in the cells.
As Willo shared her experience of what can be a difficult time for cancer patients, waiting for test results, this blog is also a discussion of how to cope with the understandable anxiety that waiting for information about your health can bring.
