Fed up of feeling crap

Hi,

Before I was diagnosed and started treatment, I felt well. The only symptom I had was heavy bleeding (don't get me wrong, it was awful and on a number of occasions it was like a scene from Carrie) but no pain etc.

Since I started treatment I've felt so ill and it's just getting worse as the treatment goes on.  Ive never been so tired all of the time, I feel nauseous and have severe pain in my lower back and hip (left side) and dont get me started on the constipation and diarrhoea (yes, both dependant on week) I have really had enough of feeling ill every single day.  I don't have the energy to do anything and spend most of my time (when not getting treatment) sat on the sofa. I try to go on 4/5 short walks a day but some days I can only manage 1.

So far I've had 6 rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin and Paclitaxel), 8 rounds of Immunotherapy and 5 rounds of radiotherapy.  I have another 20 rounds of radiotherapy, 3 rounds of Brachytherapy, potentially 5/6 further  rounds of chemotherapy (Cisplatin) and Immunotherapy for up to another 18 months.

Sorry for going on, I just needed to get my thoughts out.

Thanks for reading x

  • Hi

I’m sorry to read how rough you’re feeling, especially when apart from the bleeding you were not in pain before treatment started. You’ve had to deal with a lot since your diagnosis, and facing more ahead of you must feel incredibly difficult.

I hope you’re getting support and advice from your team to deal with your pain and symptoms? I had a lot of pain prior to my original diagnosis and I understand how debilitating it is to have this every day.

I hope it feels even just a little helpful for you to say how you’re feeling..sharing with others can help you know there are others who can understand. Don’t worry about “going on”or apologise. I think you’re completely entitled to feel the way you’re feeling.

    Sarah xx
